Bonnie Gail Weeks, age 66, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 at her home in Pope, MS surrounded by family.
Funeral services for Gail will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
Gail was born on August 15, 1958 to the late Ray Elisha Slaughter and Irene Dees Slaughter in Batesville, MS. She was a faithful and life-long member of the Central Academy Church of Christ.
Gail dedicated many years of her life to her role as the office manager at 20/20 Eye Care, where she not only managed, but assisted the Optometrist. She was a cherished friend to her colleagues and the patients she served. Her contributions to the business and her caring nature left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Beyond her professional achievements, Gail loved going shopping and had a particular fondness for Elvis Presley, embracing his music with great enthusiasm and loved visiting Graceland and the museum in Tupelo. Her heart was centered on her family, and she found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, creating cherished memories that will be treasured by all.
The family she leaves behind includes her husband, David Lynn Weeks of Pope, MS; her children, Sarah Gail Cook of Duck Hill, MS, Stephanie Leigh Hobson of Tupelo, MS, Todd Weeks of Batesville, MS, Dana Weeks Locke of Sardis, MS, and Kimberly Weeks Burnett of Des Arc, AR; one sister, Donna Kay Walls of Batesville, MS; one brother, Arthur Mike Slaughter; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ray Junior Slaughter.
