Bonnie Guthrie

Bonnie Guthrie, 75, of Batesville, MS, ascended to Heaven peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

 Funeral services for Bonnie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. 

Born on July 17, 1949 to Leonard and Lee Tigner Taylor of Batesville, Bonnie was an intelligent and industrious young woman who loved learning and grew up attending Batesville schools. She was a hard worker who began working outside the home and forging her own way as soon as she was able, eventually leading to a long career at Holley (later Borg Warner) which spanned most of her adult life before retiring from her position as a Quality Control Inspector to focus on family. She loved music, her Mustang GT, and her pets. She enjoyed painting, playing cards, reading, gardening, cooking, and making quilts for family and friends. However, nothing brought her more joy than her family, with whom she could often be found visiting on her back porch.

Bonnie was a beloved and cherished wife, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend as well as a loving mother and grandmother who was so thrilled to recently learn she would soon be a first-time great-grandmother. She will be forever loved and missed beyond measure. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 44 years, Steven Guthrie of Batesville; her best friend and sister, Betty Taylor Anderson (Bill) of Oxford, MS; her treasured and only child, daughter Kimberly Miller of Huntsville, AL; and the light of her life, her two grandsons, Donovan Freeman (Hilary) and Dalton Freeman, both of Huntsville, AL. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Diane Taylor and her brother, Kenneth Taylor.
