Bobby R. Gitter, age 77, passed away Friday evening, June 5, 2020, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, June 8, 2020, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. The interment will follow at Crockett Cemetery near Senatobia, MS.
Bobby was born February 2, 1943 in Tate County, MS to the late Leonard and Gladys Hensley Gitter. He was a retired life insurance salesman and an Elder in the Sardis Church of Christ. Bobby honorably served our great country in the U.S. Army. He had many special interests in his life that included, raising cows, South Panola Football, WWE wrestling and selling his so called "Junk" that he had collected. Bobby was always quick with a joke and enjoyed visiting and getting to know people.
Bobby's life and memory will be cherished by his loving children, Michelle Gitter of Southaven, MS, Tammy Mixon (Mark) of Courtland, MS, Bobby R. Gitter, II (Brenda) of Olive Branch, MS, Brian Gitter (Cari) of Pope, MS, Jay Dodd of Pope, MS; sister, Sadella Dickerson of Faulkner, MS; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Along with his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wives, Arlene Gitter and Brenda Joyce Gitter.
