Bobbie Griffis Johnson, age 85, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 at her daughter's home in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 30, 2022 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Bobbie was born on April 30, 1937 to the late Robert Wilson Griffis and Gladys Teen White Griffis in Batesville, MS. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Batesville and served on several committees in the community, including the Lion’s Club for 38 years and was even awarded the Melvin Jones Award.  Bobbie was a teacher at Learning Tree Kindergarten under Ms. Gale Norris. After ministering to many kindergarteners, she worked as substitute teacher. Right before retirement, she worked as a receptionist for Dr. Stewart for over 20 years. Bobbie had several hobbies she enjoyed, but her favorite was playing bingo. Her servant’s heart will always be remembered.

She will be greatly missed by her family which includes her two children Lynn Culbreath Schell of Harrisburg, PA, and Jay Johnson of Batesville, MS; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John E Johnson, and one son, Ricky Johnson.
