Blanche Bray Clarkson

Blanche Bray Clarkson, age 103, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, MS.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

Blanche was born on November 22, 1918 to the late Nick Harmon and Alma Lee Perry Harmon in Hulka, MS. She was as homemaker for most of her life, except when she was employed as a factory worker at the Hosiery Mill in Batesville and at the Luggage Plant in Sardis. Some of her favorite things to do were sewing and reading. Blanche was also a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church.  

The loving family left behind to cherish her sweet memory include her three children, James William Bray (Lyndal) of Hernando, MS, Joan B. Allen of Oxford, MS, and Jimmie B. Stewart (William) of Sardis, MS; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband and father to her children, J.D. Bray; her second husband, J.C. Clarkson; one son, Jack M. Bray; three sisters, Estelle Berry, Florence Hill, and Beatrice Bell; and two brothers, Melvin Harmon and Q.T. Harmon.
