Frank William “Bill” McCurdy, III, age 63, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home in Pope, MS.
Funeral services for Bill will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 in the Martin-Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 at Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS.
Bill was born January 2, 1956 to the late Iris Murrell Sharp and Frank William McCurdy, II in Batesville, MS. Bill was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of Pope Baptist Church. He was a strong supporter of the Panola County Livestock Program and was willing to do anything for anyone at any time. Bill was also the recipient for the 2018 National Day Cowboy Award.
Those he leaves behind to cherish his loving memory include his wife Connie Ware McCurdy of Pope, MS; his two daughters, Laura McCurdy Anglin (Wess) of Pope, MS and Meredith McCurdy Rhodes (Bubba) of Pope, MS; one son, Frank William “Will” McCurdy, IV (Whitney) of Pope, MS; two sisters, Fran McCurdy of Oxford, MS and Ann McCurdy Mills of Pope, MS; one brother, James Richard “Jim” McCurdy of Pope, MS; and 3 grandchildren, Adison McCurdy, Becca McCurdy, and Brayden Rhodes.
