Betty Thompson

Betty Faye Beard Thompson, age 87, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at the Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley, MS.

Due to the current health concerns, there will be no services at this time. A graveside service will be held later this summer and will be announced here by the family at a later time.

Betty was born April 16, 1932 in Hanceville, AL. to the late James Warner Connell and Gladys Gertrude Alcorn Connell. She was a homemaker during her lifetime. Betty was a caring loving mother to her children. Betty met and married Henry Beard, the love of her life. The mixed family blended together perfectly. Betty loved to crochett, knit and grow flowers, her favorite being roses and poinsettia. Betty was a member of Faith Tabernacle, the former Batesville First United Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Everett Thompson; brothers, Loyd Connell, Francis Connell, Derald Connell; sisters, Jeanette Connell, Dera Kirchhoff, Ara Carlisle; and one granddaughter, Amy Fears.

Survivors include her son, Bobby Carlisle; daughter, Freida Carlisle; grandchildren, Melody Garner and Derek Carlisle; great grandchildren, Jonah Fears, Luke Fears, Tessa Garner, Caleb Carlisle, Gabriel Carlisle, and Shepard Carlisle.
