Betty Swindoll Bailey, age 81, passed away Sunday morning, September 24, 2017 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. Ms. Bailey is the widow of the late Robert F. Bailey.The family will be celebrating Ms. Bailey's life with a funeral service at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery next to her husband. The family will begin receiving friends earlier Saturday morning at 11:30 A.M. Betty's brother-in-law, Reverend Gene Kennedy, will be officiating the services. Betty was born March 7, 1936 in Water Valley, MS to the late Hubert Woodward and Ethel Bolen Swindoll. She was homemaker and member of First Evangelical Church in Memphis, TN. In her pastime, Betty was a Bible Teacher for Child Evangelism Fellowship and Good News Clubs. Following her teaching years, Betty continued to support both the ministries by her financial support, as well as, supporting the Billy Graham International and Samaritan Purse.Betty is survived by her loving family, which includes, her daughter, Kay Bailey Ross of Batesville, MS; sister, Shirley Swindoll Kennedy (Gene) of Memphis, TN; brother, Hubert Birlon Swindoll (Sandra) of Batesville, MS; sister-in-law, Kathe Swindoll Daughtery of Batesville, MS; three nieces, Mechel Kennedy Frost of Nashville, TN, Amy Swindoll Sandifer of Batesville, MS, Paige Swindoll Logan of Bruce, MS; four nephews, Jeffrey Swindoll of Batesville, MS, Barry Swindoll of Batesville, MS, Wade Swindoll of Wisconsin and Cody Swindoll of Utah; three grand-nephew, Michael Kennedy of Memphis, TN, Trey Logan and Jayke Logan both of Bruce, MS; six grand-nieces, Bailey Frost of Nashville, TN, Riley Frost of Nashville, TN, Rheanna Kennedy of Memphis, TN, Jessica Blake Swindoll of Batesville, MS, Tiffany Swindoll Bridges of Batesville, MS, Kayla Swindoll Reynolds of Tupelo, MS, and numerous great nieces and nephews.Other than Betty's husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jack "Jay" Claude Swindoll and one nephew, Michael Alan Kennedy, and one son-in-law, David Ross.
