Bessie Mae Rowland, age 90, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford. She was the widow of Mr. Daniel Lee Rowland.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 2, 2022 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Blackjack Cemetery near Batesville, MS. The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home.

Bessie Mae was born September 11, 1931 in New Albany, MS to the late Aurthur Lee and Annie Mae Hale Horton. She was a homemaker and of the Assembly of God faith. Bessie Mae enjoyed the simpler things in life which included, fishing, playing bingo and singing. She always loved attending any family gathering and working in her flower garden.

Bessie Mae’s memory will be cherished by her daughter, Towanda Taylor of Pope, MS; sons, Robby Rowland of Hernando, MS, Raymond Rowland of Batesville, MS, Jimmy Willard of Water Valley, MS, Robert Willard of Batesville, MS and Sidney “Dago” Willard of Fulton, MS; one sister, Dorothy Lee Horton of Blue Mountain, MS; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
