Barbara Cochran Locke, age 79, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the North Mississippi Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was the wife of Rev. Charles Locke.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include, Teddy Morrow, Tim Morrow, Justin Benante, Nathan Locke, Corey Locke, Chris Rial and honorary pallbearer, Noah Locke.
Barbara was born in New Albany, MS to the late Wallace Vivian and Mary Rose Beckworth Cochran. She was a homemaker and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in the Curtis Station Community near Batesville, MS. Barbara enjoyed crafts and needle work. She received great joy out of watching birds, especially red birds. Barbara was a Weiner High School Cardinal fan, where she loved watching her son play sports growing up. She was always up for a good day of shopping and watching her favorite games shows, like, Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right and Jeopardy. Most of all, Barbara loved spending as much time with her grandkids as possible.
Barbara’s loving memory will be cherished by her husband, Rev. Charles Locke of Batesville, MS; three sons, Charles “Chuck” Locke, Jr. (Rhonda) of Wetumpka, AL, Terry Locke (Tina) of Jonesboro, AR, James Wallace Locke (Belinda) of Jonesboro, AR; six grandchildren, Katrina Benante (Justin), Nathan Locke (Erin), Chris Rial (Whitney), Corey Locke (Kailyn), Olivia Locke, Noah Locke; four great-grandchildren, Savannah Locke, Briana Locke, Collyns Rial and Carsyn Rial.
Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Cochran Morrow and Connie Lynn Cochran Howe and one brother, Terry Wayne Cochran.
