Ann Ellis Tomlinson, age 90, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Azalea Commons in Batesville, MS.

Graduated from high school in Clarksdale, MS.
Received her Bachelors Degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Attended medical school in Albany, NY at Albany Medical School. Graduated from Tulane Medical School in New Orleans as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
Ellis soon married and moved to Clarksdale, MS and began her family as well as her nursingcareer at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. She practiced anesthesia in Clarksdale for more than 25 years and eventually opened an Interior Design shop where she custom made drapes and bedding.
The family later moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where she found herself back in the operating room. Her love for medicine never wavered and she told many stories of her career in the medical field.
Ellis had many hobbies. She played Bridge and Mahjong in her early years and had a love for music and ballroom dancing where she would dance for many hours. Her most favorite hobby was watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball. She was an avid fan since her dad took her to her first game at the age of 6 years old. She could have the most knowledgeable conversation about the Cardinals with anyone that was a true baseball fan.
Due to her declining health, she moved to Batesville, MS to live at Azalea Commons Assisted Living. She transferred her religious affiliation to Batesville First Methodist Church and was able to enjoy her time at church when she was able to attend.
Throughout her life, Ellis worked tirelessly to provide for her children. Those she leaves behind include her three daughters, Shauna Myers of Memphis, TN, Tracy (Ronnie) Goforth of Batesville, MS and Leslie Maddie of Flower Mound, TX. Grandchildren: Gina Brewer of Memphis, Whitney Myers of Moon Lake, Grant Goforth of Batesville, Marlee (Clint) Egbert of Batesville, Mary Allen Maddie Pollok (Tyler) of Flower Mound, TX, William Shelby Maddie, Jr of Flower Mound, TX and Lee Tomlinson, II of Kansas City, MO; Great grandchildren include Addison Brewer, Kipton, Luke, and Carlisle Egbert, McKay, Lucy Goforth, Brady Knott
Ellis was preceded in death by her parents, BW and Juanita Ellis; her brother, Jack Ellis; her sons, Lee McDonald Tomlinson, Jr. and Edwin Montroy (Troy) Tomlinson and her son-in-law, William (Bill) Maddie.
The family will hold a graveside memorial service on her birthday, Feb. 1, 2025.
