Live Stream of Funeral Service

Allen C. Anthony, age 74, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends Friday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Following the service, the interment will be at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Pope, MS.

Allen was born May 16, 1946 in Panola County, MS to the late Wilbur Leon and Bertha Harris Anthony. He was an active member of Enid Lake Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. Allen was a retired educator from South Panola Schools. Following his retirement from the school system, Allen worked as a courtroom deputy for the Panola County Sheriff’s Department. He was a strong man of God with a humble servant’s heart. Allen enjoyed many things including camping, woodworking, and spending time on his land. His most important time spent was with his children and grandchildren playing games and modeling life lessons.

Allen’s memory will be cherished by his wife, Patsy Hill Anthony of Pope, MS; two daughters, Brooke Anthony Savell (Shay) of Brandon, MS, Melanie Mitchell (Jason) of Saltillo, MS; three sons, Allen C. Anthony, II (Tina) of Hernando, MS, Gary Kyle Waters (Sandy) of Tupelo, MS, Mike Waters (TZ) of Tupelo, MS; sister, Bonnie Anthony Brown (David) of Lena, MS and eleven grandchildren.
