Alice Johnson

Alice Johnson, age 61, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at her home in Coffeeville, MS.

There will be a memorial gathering held for Alice from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with a memorial service to follow the gathering at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held at Grenada Memorial Gardens in Grenada MS.

Alice was born September 25, 1958 to the late Susan Zoder Slaughter in Charleston, MS. She worked in the marketing department for Walmart for 40 plus years. She was of the Pentecostal faith.

Alice was preceded in death by her mother Susan Slaughter; husband, Steven I. Johnson; 2 aunts, Linda Bridges, and Pete Mills; niece, MacKenzie C. Gregory; and brother-in-law, Rusty Burns.

The large loving family she leaves behind include 2 sisters, Robbie Hogstad of Navarre, FL., and Lois Burns of Ridgeland; 3 brothers, Ray Slaughter, of Charleston, Joe Slaughter of Clarksdale, Robert Hancock, Jr., of California; fiancé, Hank Covington of Grenada; 2 cousins, Connie L. Mills of Pope, Randy Dahl of Grenada, 2 nieces, Elisabeth Pandolph of Navarre, FL., Ashley Dahl of Geeslin Corner; 2 nephews, Chris Parker of Brandon, and Shannon Parker of Duck Hill.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
