Alfred Earl Mills

Alfred Earl Mills, age 77, passed away Friday morning, August 16, 2019, at his home in Batesville, MS.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 19, 2019, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Union Cemetery in Sardis, MS. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. on Monday.

Alfred was born June 19, 1942 in Panola County, MS to the late Alfred Drew and Annie Bell Gant Mills. Alfred was a heavy equipment operator for the Corps of Engineers and was of the Baptist faith. He honorably served his state and country in the Mississippi National Guard. Alfred was a simple man that enjoyed farming and raising his cattle and chickens. Each year, he also worked hard in his vegetable garden. Alfred had a special love for nature and all animals.

Alfred leaves behind his two daughters, Susan Griffis of Pope, MS, Kimberly “Kim” Munoz of Batesville, MS; four sisters, Penny Daniels of Batesville, MS, Pam Scott of Batesville, MS, Louise Rose of Batesville, MS, Jean Roberson of Batesville, MS; four brothers, Gary Mills of Senatobia, MS, Jarrell Mills of Batesville, MS, Kenny Ray Mills of Senatobia, MS, James “Jim” Mills of Harrisonburg, LA; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Other than his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his two sons, Mark Lewis Mills and David Earl Mills.
