Leo Bennett Rhodes

Leo Bennett Rhodes, age 93, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at home in Sardis, MS. He was the widower of Etta Ellen Clemons Rhodes. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Rosehill Cemetery Sardis, MS with Rev. Tom Atkins officiating. Leo was born on June 11, 1917 in Stuttgart, AR to Daniel Sayre and Jessie Wallace Rhodes. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church. He was a truck driver. Mr. Rhodes was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and fought in WWII where he was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Survivors include, Daughters: Dee Mason of Sardis, MS, Mary Moudy of Batesville, MS, Barbara Santiago of Sardis, MS, Louise Wilson of Sardis, MS; 3 Sons: Buddy Rhodes of Byhalia, MS, Bill Rhodes of Hernando, MS, Dale Rowan of Sardis, MS; 10 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren.
