Interment will follow in Brazil Cemetery, Brazil, MS. Stanley was born on March 31, 1943 in Sledge, MS to Billy Robert and Audrey Mae Norris Melton. Mr. Melton was a truck driver and he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist. Survivors include: Wife: Clara Melton of Batesville, MS, Mother: Audrey Mae Norris Melton of Batesville, MS; Daughter: Anita Melton Hollingsworth of Batesville, MS; 3 Sons: Stanley Melton, Jr of Batesville, MS, David Melton of Hernando, MS, Billy Joe Melton of Batesville, MS; 3 Sisters: Carol Scheile of Lambert, MS, Jennie Patton of England, AR, Sue Iris of Houston, TX; 2 Brothers: James Robert Melton of Cleveland, TX, Roy Melton of Lambert, MS; 13 Grandchildren; 3 Half-Sisters: Martha Chrestman of Batesville, MS, Betty Chrestman of Batesville, MS, Carrol Jean Conner of Carrollton, MS; Half-Brother: James W. Hughes of Kansas. Visitation will be, Friday, September 24, 2010 from 10 am until service time at Wells Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be: Jack Viner, Joe Bryant, Johnny Melton, Brandon Carpenter, Ryan Carpenter & Danny Golden. Honorary bearers will be: Dale Beaver & Dan Melton.
