A funeral service will be held at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS on Thurs., Sept. 23 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lambert Cemetery, Lambert, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. Mr. Smith was born April 9, 1956 in Clarksdale, MS to the late Wiley & Marie Smith. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Smith. He is survived by wife, Janet, of Sumter, SC; a son Jimmy, Jr. of Crowder, MS; a daughter, Deanna Ware of Enid, MS; 3 brothers: Lester Smith of Nesbit, MS, Boyd Smith of Murray, KY, Floyd Smith of Pensacola, FL; one sister, Margaret Carney of Virginia Beach, VA and five grandchildren.
