Bessie T. Henley, age 85, passed away Friday afternoon, September 10, 2010 at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS.
Mrs. Henley was born August 20, 1925 in Webster County, MS to the late Robert Lee and Muggie M. Tullos Taylor. She was retired from BellSouth after 35 years as a District Chief Clerk. Mrs. Henley was a very active member of Victory Congregational Methodist Church in Florence, MS and former longtime member of First Baptist Church in Gulfport, MS. She served with the Home Missions Board; was a senior volunteer for the Southern Baptist Convention in Maryland and was actively involved with the Telephone Pioneers.
She is survived by her sister, Mabel T. Stovall of Batesville, MS; four nieces, Lynda Harris of Alexandria, VA, Barbara Harris Reed of Florence, MS, Sharon Taylor Vaughn of Eupora, MS, Melanie Taylor of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three nephews, John Kilpatrick of Batesville, MS, Bill Taylor of Walthall, MS, and David Taylor of Orlando, FL.
The family of Mrs. Henley will be having a family memorial service at the home of John Kilpatrick on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 P.M.
