Beatrice Atwood Barnes

Batesville, MS: Beatrice Atwood Barnes, age 88, died Friday at Golden Living Center. She was the widow of Roy L. Barnes. Mrs. Barnes was formerly of Johnson City, TN. A graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Johnson City, TN on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. She was born on March 31, 1922 in Tennessee. Mrs. Barnes was the retired owner/operator of Jody's Dress Shop in Johnson City, TN. Mrs. Barnes is survived by 2 grandchildren: Kristyn Sumpter of Senatobia, MS and Erica Sumpter of Franklin, TN; and 3 Great Grandchildren: Jacob, Taylor, Presley. The family of Mrs. Barnes would like to extend a special "Thank you" to the staff of Golden Living Nursing Home and Southern Care Hospice for the extra special time and effort they gave Mrs. Barnes as they cared for her. Wells Funeral Home of Batesville, MS is in charge of arrangements.
