Click Here To View Video Memorial TributeGeorge Holvitz, 86, widower of the late Jo Ann Shankle Holvitz, passed away Friday moring at his home in Pope, MS. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 16, 2010 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS. Reverend Lester Tankersley will be officiating the services.  Visitation is Sunday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home. Mr. Holvitz was born the youngest of 10 children on May 6, 1924 in Filbert, PA to Samueal and Anna Pronik Holvitz. George was a retired painter for Southern Painting Company in Memphis, TN, and he was a member of Enid Baptist Church. Mr. Holvitz is survived by two sons, Dewey L. Gianelloni, III and wife Nita of Batesville, MS,  John T. Shankle of Batesville, MS; two sisters, Hazel holvitz Gillikin of Pittsburgh, PA, Mildred Holvitz Kerr of New Jersey. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
