Click Here To View Video Memorial TributeWilliam Donald "Catfish" Vernon, Sr., 80, of Como, MS, passed away Tuesday evening, August 3, 2010 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Southaven, MS. Funeral Services are 1:00 PM Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Wells Funeral Home with Dr. James Pinkerton officiating. Interment to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery-Midtown in Memphis, TN. Visitation will be 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday prior to the service. Mr. Vernon was born June 30, 1930 in Memphis, TN to the late William C. and Lula Parham Vernon. He graduated from Southside High School and worked 35 years for Frito Lay in Memphis, TN. Mr. Vernon attended Harmontown Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, as well as spending time with his family and friends. He was a jack of all trades and also enjoyed gardening. He is survived by his sons, Donnie Vernon of Harmontown, MS; and Terry Vernon of Harmontown, MS; daughter, Chris Vernon Maglior and husband Chris of Hernando, MS; 4 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter.
