Click Here To View Video Memorial TributeJessie Hill Monroe, age 78, widow of Harvey Monroe, went to heaven on Wednesday morning, July 21, 2010 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home, Batesville, MS with Rev. Bobby Waydell officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. service time. Mrs. Monroe was born, as one of nine children, on June 13, 1932 in Marks, MS to James G. and Mary M. Hill. Over the course of her career she worked at Sardis Luggage Company, Carrom Mfg & Harvey’s Candy Company, along with her husband. She was a member of Union Baptist Church. Mrs. Monroe was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was happiest when she was with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her! Survivors include: 4 Daughters: Pat Monroe Eubanks of Cabot, AR, Charlotte Monroe Evans (Hubert) of Cabot, AR, Debbie Monroe Ford of Cabot, AR, Carla Monroe Edlin of Sardis, MS; 1 Sister: Sarah Force (Jim) of Slidell, LA; 8 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; many nieces, nephews & in-laws. She was preceded by her parents: James G. & Mary M. McMinn Hill and her husband: Harvey Monroe.
