Click Here To View Video Memorial TributeKathryn Savage Lamar, of Lambert, MS, age 91, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Baptist Memorial of North MS in Oxford, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M., Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Lambert United Methodist Church in Lambert, MS with Rev. Charles Simmons and Rev. Don O’Quin officiating. Interment will follow in Lambert Cemetery, Lambert, MS. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Wells Funeral Home, Batesville, MS. Mrs. Lamar was born on January 3, 1919 in Lambert, MS to Van and Eva Fewell Savage. As a business woman she farmed and was a cotton ginner. Mrs. Lamar enjoyed cooking for family and friends as well as painting and gardening. She was also known to be a detailed seamstress and talented musician. She was a member of the Lambert United Methodist Church where she was dedicated to many church activities. Mrs. Lamar is survived by two daughters, Evan Lamar Parks (Enoch) of Oxford, MS, Carolyn Lamar Dancy (Chris) of Lambert, MS; one son, Percie Lee Lamar, III (Caroline) of Olive Branch, MS; nine grandchildren, William Lamar, Anna Kathryn Dawson, Delia Childers, Donna McCormack, Emily Lamar, Lauren Dancy, Adam Dancy, Adyn Dancy, Bryce Dancy; seven great-grandchildren, Grace, Alex & Eva Childers, Isabel & Carter Dawson, Henry McCormack and Porter Dancy. She was preceded in death by one son, Glenn Lucas Lamar; one brother-Maurice Savage, and her parents, Van & Eva Fewell Savage. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials in Mrs Lamars memory be made to any of the following: Lambert United Methodist Church, The American Diabetes Assoc. or Delta Academy in Marks, MS.
