Holcomb, age 95, formerly of Batesville, MS, passed away Saturday morning, June 19, 2010 at Methodist Germantown Hospital in Germantown, TN. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 21, 2010 at Wells Funeral Home with Rev'd Dr. Jonathan L. Jeffords officiating. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10:00 till 11:00 AM Monday, prior to the service. She was born February 14, 1915 in Tipton County, TN to late Thomas Wesley & Annie Jane Densford. She worked for many years as Credit Manager at Parks Belk in Memphis, TN. Maidie has long awaited her trip to heaven and is now rejoicing in the arms of her Lord. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all. Her promise was Romans 8:28 and her life was and is a living example of Christian love. She lived to serve the Lord. She was surrounded by her family and many friends as she journeyed to HEAVEN. We rejoice with her and celebrate her life. Maidie, one of President Bush's thousand points of light, a member of Emmanual United Methodist Church for many years and a lifelong Christian has made her much awaited journey to her Lord. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank K. Holcomb, her parents and 8 siblings. She leaves a loving family of 4 children, W. S. McFarland of Millington, TN; Melvin Holcomb of Batesville, MS; Shirley Williams of Memphis, TN; and Beverly Elliott of Greenville, TX; l sister, Lydia Campbell of Kennesaw, GA; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory and honor can be made to your church or the Church Health Center of Memphis, TN.
