Video Memorial TributeJames A. White, Sr. age 72, of Grenada, MS, died Friday, April 2, 2010 at Baptist Memorial of North MS in Oxford, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, April 5, 2010 at Crowder Baptist Church in Crowder, MS, with Rev. Truman Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow in Crowder Cemetery.
James was born on May 16, 1937 in Lambert, MS to Francis Willard and Ruby Estelle Arendale White. James had retired from General Motors Company after 18 years of service and then went on to work as the Cheif Engineer on the Riverboat for 16 years. He was a baptist and attended Friendship East Baptist Church in Teasdale, MS.
James loved watching his grandchildren in their many activities! He was an avid reader and Ole Miss Sports fan. He coached baseball for many years while his sons were growing up. James enjoyed western movies and he was known as a "favorite" uncle.
Survivors include: 3 Sons: James A. White, Jr. (Natalie) of Hernando, MS, Willard David White of Oxford, MS, Michael E. White of Oxford, MS; Daughter: Kathy White Wilkinson (James) of Grenada, MS, 3 Sisters: Margie Tutor of Courtland, MS, Linda Elmore of Crowder, MS, Nancy White of Oxford, MS; Brother: Dennis Ray White of Jasper, AL, 12 Grandchildren: Amy White, Ashley White, James A. White, III, Jennifer Marascalco, Jessica White, Jamie Bradford, Hope White, Angie Marberry, BoJay Self, Brittany Self, Trista Wilkinson, & Jay Wilkinson 9 Great Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by: His parents: Francis Wilard & Ruby Estelle Arendale White; 1 daughter: Lori Ann White Self; 1 brother: Willard Dean White; Wife: Annie Ruth Gray White.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Wells Funeral Home, Batesville, MS.
