Charles William Hanks

Charles William Hanks, 77 years old, husband of Shelby Mitchell Hanks passed away on Wednesday afternoon, March 17, 2010 in his home in Dickson, TN. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Mitchell offficiating and Rev. Jerry Wages assisting. Interment to follow at Crowder Cemetery in Crowder, MS. Visitation will be 12:30 PM to 2:00 pm Saturday prior to the service. Mr. Hanks was born in Sardis, MS to the late Benny & Lois Appleton Hanks. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Hanks retired with 36 years of service from MDOT. Mr. Hanks is survived by his wife, Shelby Mitchell Hanks of Dickson, TN; son, Richard Massey of Eagleville, TN; daughter, Donna Massey of Eagleville, TN; sister, Katie Hanks Whalen of Senatobia, MS; brother, Benny Hanks, Jr. of Senatobia, MS; and grandson, Avery Massey of Eagleville, TN. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
