Nellie Mavis Tims Tutor

Nellie Mavis Tims Tutor, age 80, passed away at her home in Courtland, MS on Monday morning, February 15, 2010. Mrs. Tutor is the widow of the late William Jewell Tutor. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Bethany Baptist Church with interment in Magnolia Cemetery. Reverend Tim Ellis and Mr. Robert Rawson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home. Nellie was born March 27, 1929 in Pittsboro, Ms. to the late James Fred and Kate Barton Tims. Mrs. Tutor was a retired Care Sitter and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She leaves behind her loving family, which includes, five daughters, Rita Tutor Cook, Diana Tutor Cook, Ginger Tutor Ridgeway of Courtland, MS, Sherry Tutor Darby of Pope, MS, Myra Tutor Wright of Abbeville, MS; seven sons, Danny Ray Tutor and Ronnie Ray Tutor of Batesville, MS, Tony Lynn, John David, and Billy Leon Tutor of Courtland, MS, Douglas Wayne Tutor, Sr. and Bobby Dale Tutor of Senatobia, MS; one sister, Wanda Sanders of Courtland, MS; two brothers, Harold Tims of Pope, MS., Larry Tims of Ft. Lauderdale, FL,; 38 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Kay Tutor Daugherty and her sister, Lois Anderson. The family would like to ask that memorials be sent to The American Cancer Society.
