Click Here To View Video Memorial TributeRay Aubrey Coaten, age 77, widower of the late Frances Lyndora Ferguson Coaten, passed away Saturday, Janaury 30, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 1, 2010 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel will interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Reverend John Stewart and Reverend Randy Cox will be officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jeff Todd, John Ford, John Ford, Jr., Joe Horton, Chuck Tucker, Dan Melton and Honorary pallbearers Brian Henning, Brandon Henning and Bryan Arnold. Ray was born August 24, 1932 in Yalobusha County, Ms. to the late Douglas O. and Nellie Betts Coaten. Mr. Coaten was retired from Panola County and attended Blackjack Presbyterian Church. Ray leaves behind his loving family, which includes his daughter, Patricia "Trish" Coaten Medlock and husband Rick of Jonesboro, Ar.; two sons, Michael Coaten and wife Jennifer of Batesville, Ms., Eric Coaten and wife Joanna of Batesville, Ms.; five grandchildren, Lindsie Medlock, Brandon Henning, Sara Hawthorne, Emily Newman, Brian Henning and two great-grandchildren, Madison Henning and Braxton Newman. Beside his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Coaten; two sisters, Nana Mae Bray, Mamie Perkins and a brother, Raymond Coaten. The family request anyone wishing to send memorials to forward them to the American Cancer Society.
