Betty Jean McBroom Wilson

Mrs. Betty Jean McBroom Wilson, age 84, passed away at Baptist Hospital in Oxford, MS today, March 20, 2017.  Funeral services for Mrs. Wilson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Batesville MS. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville. Reverend Ed Woodall will officiate the service. Family and friends are invited to join the Wilson family following interment back at the church for food and fellowship until 2:30 p.m. Betty was born December 10, 1932 to the late Archie F. McBroom and Minnie Mills McBroom in Batesville, MS. Betty was a retired teacher's assistant for South Panola School District and a member of First United Methodist Church in Batesville. In her leisure time she enjoyed growing day lilies, cross stitching, reading, Bible Study, playing cards and cooking for her family and friends. Those she leaves to cherish her precious memory include her husband, James L.  "Scoot" Wilson, 2 children; Brenda Wilson May of Memphis, TN, and James L. "Jimmy" Wilson of Batesville, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by one son, John "Johnny" Wilson.
