Video Memorial TributeHelen Diane Howell Sanford, age 70, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford surrounded by her family.Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral home with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS.  The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 A.M. Tuesday until service time. The Reverend Ricky Cook and Reverend Lennie Maples will be officiating the service.Diane was born April 20, 1946 to the late Burtrum Hy Howell and Ollie Baker Howell in Pope, MS. Diane was a member of Friendship Church of God. She worked for 30 plus years for Pope School as a 1st Grade teacher. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandkids, doing cross word puzzles and loved her Pope School family. Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her children; Hal Davis (B.J.) of Oxford, and Kevin Davis (Nikki) of Batesville, sister; Vontice Howell Lambert of Pope, brother; Jamie Howell of Pope, 6 grandchildren; Alex Davis, Hallie Davis, Layla Davis, Jaylin Archey, Easton Moore, and Ryder Oakley.
