Eletha Jamison Melton, age 96 widow of Benjamin Lowry Melton, died at her home, in Batesville, MS on Monday morning 8/24/09.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Marks Cemetery in Marks, MS with Reverend Charlie Simmons presiding.
Mrs. Melton was a retired legal secretary.
She was born on September 11, 1912 to the late Dr. and Mrs. Alfred Jamison of Marks, MS.
Mrs. Melton was formerly a member of the Batesville Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and also The Friends of The Library.
She is survived by one sister: Mrs. Linda Jamison Patridge of Batesville, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Melton was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Benjamin Lowry Melton; two sisters: Mrs. Adelaide Brunt, Mrs. Alice Stovall; and three brothers: Mr. John Jamison, Mr. Charlie Jamison and Mr. Burt Jamison.
