Michael Lee Workman

Mr. Michael Lee Workman, age 72, passed away at his home near Charleston, February 14, 2017. Michael is the husband of Alice Fonda Henson Workman of Charleston. Michael was born March 3, 1944 to the late Robert Dean Workman and Lois Yvonne Birkner Workman in Iowa City, IO. Michael was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Charleston and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as a weapons controller at Pin Main on the DEW Line. A jack of all trades, Michael worked for Prudential Ins. Co. for almost 20 years. He owned a computer store, worked for Viking Corp., Sayle Oil and taught chemistry and physics at Strider Academy. Michael leaves behind his wife, Alice Fonda Henson Workman of Charleston, 2 children; Michael B. Workman of Tupelo, Annastasia Leah Workman of Seattle WA., and one grandchild, Caleb Workman of Tupelo. The family will hold a private memorial service for Mr. Workman at a later date. Wells Funeral Home has charge of service arrangements.
