John Robert Green III

John Robert "Johnny" Green III, age 70, of Sardis, passed away on January 1, 2017 in Holly Springs, MS. The family will hold a memorial service for Johnny at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Sardis Church of Christ with visitation beginning at 1:30. Mr. Hal Johnson will officiate with Wells Funeral Home having charge of service. Johnny was born August 31, 1946 to the late John Robert Green, Jr. and Norma Ailene McClendon Green in Sardis. Johnny was an electrician by trade. He was a member of the Sardis Volunteer Fire Dept. where her served as Chief and Coordinator. In his spare time he enjoyed horse races, hunting, and spending time with his grandson. Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda Shepard Green of Sardis, children; Sherri Green Foshee of Sardis, Kelly Green of Enid, and John Green IV of Enid. sisters; Linda Green Smith of Sardis, and Sandra Green Sharp of Florence, AL., 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by one sister, Betty Green Carr. In lieu of flowers the family asked for memorials be made to Sardis Church of Christ, 414 East Lee St. Sardis, MS 38606
