Johnny C. Griffis

Johnny C. Griffis, age 68, passed away  Thursday August  6, 2009. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday, August 9, 2009 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Blackjack Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon Sunday and will continue until services at 1:00 P.M. Johnny was a retired car salesman for Nichols Ford in Senatobia, Ms. He was born October 29, 1940 in Panola County, Ms. to Leland Gayle and Emma Jean Sorrells Griffis. He is survived by his wife, Ann Hopper Griffis of, Sardis, Ms.; four daughters, Angie Sewell of Greenville, Ms., Vicki Mitchell of Greenville, Ms., Felicia Steen of Olive Branch, Ms., Wendy Wheeler of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; two sons, Johnny C. Griffis, Jr. of Oxford, Ms., Steve Weaver of Senatobia, Ms.; his mother, Emma Jean Sorrells Grifis of Sardis, Ms.; sister, Carolyn Gayle Lusk of Germantown, Tn.; brother, Mark Thomas Griffis of Southaven, Ms.; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Leland Gayle Griffis and his brother, Richard Griffis.
