Video Memorial TributeJames F. "Mr. Jim" Tabor, age 76, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at his home in Sardis, MS.Funeral services for Mr. Tabor will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. The family will receive friends Friday evening at Wells from 5:00 to 8:00. Reverend Tommy Darby will officiate the service. Jim was born in St. Louis MO. on February 27, 1940 to the late Festus Otto Tabor and Mildred Parsons Tabor. He was the owner of Tabors Sporting Goods and was a sales manager during his lifetime. He coached basketball at the Boy's Club in his younger years and his team won the state championship. Hunting, fishing, riding horses and bowling were some of his favorite activities. He truly enjoyed meeting new people and joking with folks and was a HUGE St. Louis Cardinals fan. Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Shirley Harvey Beddingfield Tabor of Sardis, three daughters; Teresa Faye Norton (Larry) of Sardis, Colleen Marie Tabor Williams (Rhonda Jones) and Tracy Lynn Tabor Bollig both of St. Charles, MO., son; Brian James Tabor (Caroline Rossi) of Wentzville, MO., three step sons; Glenn Beddingfield (Peggy) of Franklin, TN., Scott Beddingfield (Debbie) of Aberdeen, MS., and Neil Beddingfield (Mandy) of Tupelo, MS., sister; Linda Tabor Schiele of St. Louis, MO., three brothers; Don Tabor (Nancy) of Wentzville, MO., Vernon Tabor (June) of Portland, TN., and Richard "Richie" Tabor (Mary Lou) of St. Louis, MO., 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, and most special long-time friends Larry and Rose Palmer and Dan and Norma Turner, both of St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 or the charity of your choice.
