Sam W. Powell, Sr.

Sam W. Powell, Sr., age 67, of Sardis, Ms. passed away at his home Wednesday evening, July 22, 2009. Sam was born January 20, 1942 in Memphis, Tn. to the late Lewis Martin and Wilma Loretto Meadows Powell. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and was a retired bakery owner. Sam is survived by his wife, Edith Ann Butler Powell; 3 sons, Christopher Lee Powell, Stephen Edward Powell and Sam Watson Powell, Jr.; 3 grandsons, Jeremy Niko Powell, C.J. Powell, and Logan Powell. The family would like to express their sincere appretiation to Baptist Hospice of Batesville, Ms. for their kind and loving care. No services will be held.
