Joseph Gipson

Joseph Gipson, age 87,  passed away Tuesday morning, October 11, 2016,  at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.The family will hold a graveside service for Mr. Gipson Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at North Ridge Cemetery in Millington, TN. Joseph was born December 2, 1928 to the late Harry Edward Gipson and Zelma Vivian Boling Gipson in Memphis TN. Joseph proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines from 1943 to 1952 in WWII. He was a painter by trade. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his step-son William Maroon of Memphis, TN, his sister Melba Rogers of Horn Lake,  MS., grandson, Tim Kellum (Nataliya). 2 nieces; Teresa Kimbrell and Amy Claburn,  2 great nephews; Joseph Kimbrell and Jered Claburn, 1 great niece Brooke Clayburn. In addition to his parents, Joseph is preceded in death by his wife; Cecil Gipson, his step daughter; Connie Kellum, and 3 brothers; Harry Gipson, Robert Gipson, and Earl Gipson.
