Dorothy A. Herring

Dorothy D. Herring, age 79, widow of James B. Herring, passed away Saturday July 11, 2009 at her sons home in Bristol, Tn. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday July 13, 2009 at Good Hope Baptist Church in Batesville, Ms. with interment in Good Hope Cemetery. Rev. Todd Plunkett and Rev. Ricky McKay will be officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Good Hope Baptist Church until service time. Dorothy was born May 15, 1930 in Memphis, TN. to Clifford and Mamie Christian Douglass. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church and a volunteer for the Tri-Lakes Hospital Auxillary. She is survived by her son, James B. "Bryant" Herring, Jr. and wife Holly of Bristol, Tn.; two grandchildren, Bradley James Herring and Savannah Elizabeth Herring both of Bristol, Tn.; niece Tena Goodwin of Memphis, Tn.; four nephews, Clifford Douglass of Collierville, Tn., Greg douglass of Southaven, Ms., Morrie Douglass of Bartlet, Tn., and Bobby Biggs of Memphis, Tn.; sister-in-law, Lucille Douglass of Southaven, Ms. and three great-nieces, Cindy Ogden, Tiffany Ogden, and Crissy Brown. The family requests that memorials be sent to the Tri-Lakes Medical Center Auxillary.
