Edward E. Colbert

Edward E. "Eddie" Colbert, age 69, passed away Sunday morning, September 4, 2016 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. Funeral services for Mr. Colbert will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening. Mr. Jay Johnson will officiate the service. Eddie was born January 2, 1947 to the late Edward E. Colbert and Marie Peters Colbert in Memphis, TN. Eddie retired as a manager with Federal Express after 28 years of service with the company. In his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, boats and going to the Lake and Beach were some of his favorite activities. Eddie enjoyed sports, particularly South Panola and Ole Miss Football. He leaves behind a daughter, Kayla Colbert of Hernando, MS and 3 step children; Jennifer Bickerstaff of Franklin, TN., Christy Gowen of Hernando, MS, and Amber Allen of Arlington, TN.
