Quitman Grant

Quitman Grant passed away Friday morning, September 2, 2016 at his home in Batesville, MS. Funeral services for Mr. Grant will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2016 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Wells. Interment will follow the service at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope. Mr. Randy Willis will officiate the service. Quitman was born November 3, 1932 to the late Andrew Dolphus Grant and Deverlin Irene Miles Grant in Marks, MS. During his lifetime he worked as an auto and diesel mechanic and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Quitman was a member of Enid Lake Baptist Church. Those he leaves behind include his wife, JoAnne Spencer Grant of Batesville, children; Quitman Kay Applewhite of Batesville, Amma May Gleason of Batesville, Leslie Allen Grant of Southaven, Silas Andrew Grant of Florida, Melvin Lee Grant of Jacksonville, AR, Leroy Grant of Batesville, numerous brothers and sisters, 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Quitman is preceded in death by 3 children; Delores Ann Childers, Nancy Ann Spencer Grant and Richard Grant.
