Cora Inez Garrard Malone

Cora Inez Garrard Malone, age 94, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Batesville, MS. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Wake Forest Baptist Church Cemetery in Sturgis, MS. Dr. Tommy Snyder will officiate the services. Inez was born September 6, 1921 to the late John Garrard and Josephine Duran Garrard in Winston County, MS. She was a member of Batesville First Baptist Church. Those left behind to cherish her loving memory include her daughters, Sandy Samuels, and Janice Dear both of Jackson, Rosa Tindall of Batesville, and Kathy Ashworth of Starkville, her sons, Randy Malone of Hernando, and R.C. Malone, Jr. of Southaven, her brothers, Willis Garrard and Alvin Garrard, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Cora was preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Malone, Sr., 1 daughter, Jean Foshee, 3 sons, Ralph Malone, James Malone, and Donnie Malone, 2 sister, Mozelle Garrard Upchurch, and Elnora Garrard Hancock, 4 brothers, Johnny Luther Garrard, James Harvey Garrard, Joe Wesley Garrard, Homer Lee Garrard, and 2 brother-in-laws, S.L. Malone, and Thurman Malone.
