Raymond E. Ladd, age 78, passed away Friday evening, August 26, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 29, 2016 at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church. Committal services will follow in Davis Chapel Cemetery with military honors being provided by the U.S. Air Force. The family will be receiving friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home. Reverend Charlie Simmons will be officiating the services. Wells Funeral Home of Batesville, MS is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond was born November 6, 1937 in Trumann, AR to the late Jack and Gladys Virginia Montgomery Ladd. He was a retired aircraft inspection specialist and honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Raymond enjoyed the outdoors and took great pride and pleasure in training Beagles and Labrador retrievers where he would compete in field trials with his beloved dogs. Raymond loved to duck hunt, fly airplanes and in his younger years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles. His greatest love and passion was for his family, especially his grandchildren.
Raymond's memory will be cherished by his wife, Carolyn Baker Ladd of Como, MS; three daughters, Vicki Ladd Wood of Coldwater, MS, Donna Ladd Allen of Hernando, MS, Carole Ladd Spencer of Memphis, TN; son, Raymond E. "Ray" Ladd, Jr. of Batesville, MS; sister, Patricia Ladd "Patti" Elrod of Asheville, NC; brother, Michael Carl Ladd of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his son, Michael Carl Ladd.
