Lucille Nix Norwood

Lucille Nix Norwood, age 80, passed away Tuesday evening, July 20, 2016, at Gallaway Healthcare in Gallaway, TN. She is the widow of James Lewis Norwood. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the Martin Willngham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Wells Funeral Home. Born one of 7 children to the late James H. Nix and Pauline Hodges Nix in Calhoun County, MS, Lucille was a homemaker during her lifetime. She enjoyed working in her yard and garden. Lucille enjoyed fishing and collecting trinkets. She was a member of Batesville First Baptist Church. Those left behind to cherish her precious memory include her son in law, Mike Freeman of Bartlett, TN, 2 sisters; Barbara Nix Busic and Betty Sue Bowlin both of Crowder, 3 brothers; William Nix and Wayne Nix both of Memphis, TN, and Jack Nix of Olive Branch, MS, 2 grandchildren, Katherine Marie Freeman Romas of Martin, TN, and David Matthew Freeman of Memphis, TN, 3 Great Grandchildren; Caleb Michael Romas, Morgan Christopher Romas and Gabriella Marie Romas. In addition to her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Freeman, and one sister, Margaret Nix McCrary.
