Stan Sherwood

Stan Sherwood, age 63, passed away June 20, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS. Stan is the husband of Pam Sherwood of Batesville. Funeral services for Stan will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 in the Martin Willingham Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 4:30 p.m. prior to the service. Dr. Chris Wall will officiate. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville. Stan was born August 17, 1952 to the late Harry Duane Sherwood and Rose Nelli Sherwood in Lansing MI. Stan proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, from which he retired after 20 years of service as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. After retirement Stan went to work in adjustments for Dunlap and Kyle in Batesville. Stan enjoyed life. His favorite hobbies were golf and fishing. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Pam DaPrato Sherwood of Batesville, MS, his daughter, Samantha Sherwood Walls (Jeff) of Olive Branch, MS, his 2 brothers; Joseph George Sherwood of Senatobia, MS and Harry D. Sherwood (Trisha) of Chandler, AZ, and 2 Granddaughters; Paisley Rae Walls and Swayze Katherine Walls. In addition to his parents, Stan is preceded in death by one sister, Stacy Ingleson.
