E.H. Avent

E.H. Avent, age 88, passed away, June 18, 2016 at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. Mr. Avent is the widower of the late Amaryllis Fair Avent of Senatobia, MS. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon Wednesday until service time. E.H. was born October 31, 1927 to the late William Avent and Hadye Haley Avent in Quitman County, MS. E.H. worked for 30 plus years as a heavy equipment operator for TN. Gas. He was a former full-time fireman for the Clarksdale Fire Department. During his lifetime E.H. enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved to travel. He loved old Western movies and visiting with friends. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Senatobia, MS. Those left behind to cherish his memory include his son, William E. Avent (Reda) of Senatobia, sister, Jo Ann Lee of Hernando, his beloved neighbors Wesley and Sandy Ozbirn, 2 step grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and loving wife Amaryllis, E.H. is preceded in death by one son Vaughn Keith Avent.
