Vernon Glenn Martin

Vernon Glenn "Peanut" Martin age 57, passed away April 21, 2016 at Region One Medical Center in Memphis, TN. Services for Mr. Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Batesville First Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 1:00. Interment will follow at Forrest Memorial Park. Dr. Tommy Snyder will officiate the service. Born in Panola County October 10, 1958 to Margaret Bernice Martin Fox and the late Noel Wayne Martin, "Peanut" as he was named at birth by his nurses due to his size, was a faithful member of Batesville First Baptist Church. During his years on this earth, he enjoyed reading, going to church, and had an incredible love for his family. Those he leaves behind to cherish his precious memory include his wife, Emily Rowland Martin of Batesville, his daughter, Carrie Ann Martin, also of Batesville, his mother, Margaret Bernice Martin Fox of Pope, 2 brothers; Terry Martin of Clarksdale, Keith Martin of Pope, 2 sisters; Michelle Willard of Clarksdale, Melissa Carpenter of Clarksdale, Uncle, Gary Martin (Carole) of Batesville, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. In addition to his father, "Peanut" is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents; R.V. and Allie Martin, and Maternal Grandparents; Haywood and Margaret Burns.
