Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, 5/7/09 in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Karen O'Brien, Dr. David Ball and Mr. Ronnie Darby officiating. Military Honors will be given at Greenleaf Cemetery, Coldwater, MS.
Mr. Henderson was born on May 20, 1920 in Tate County, Mississippi to Iverson Floyd & Wilma Casey Henderson. He was married to the late Ruby Dix Henderson for 62 years. He was a retired Civil Service Employee. Doug served our country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during World War II where he was a Prisoner of War for 13.5 months. Doug was former commander and chief of the Northern Mississippi Chapter of X-POWS. He was also a member of the VFW and Masonic Lodge #66.
Mr. Henderson was also a member of the Batesville Presbyterian Church.
Suvivors include Daughter: Carol Lee Henderson- Batesville, MS; Son: William Donald Henderson- Hernando, MS; Three Grandchildren: Donnie Henderson, Kim Daigle and Sandi Wallace; Three Great-Grandchildren: Tiffany Henderson, Adam Howington and Chase Howington.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm Thursday 5/7/09 at Wells Funeral Home until service time.
