Darryl Wesley Still-Griffin

Darryl Wesley Still-Griffin passed away Saturday March 19, 2016, at his home in Batesville. Born in Batesville, on March 24, 1958 to the late Hulet Wesley Still and Martha Lou McMinn Still. Darryl spent most of his life in his hometown where he was a well-known and valued hairstylist. He was the owner of Darian Color Studio. Darryl was a member of the Presbyterian Church During his years as a hairstylist and colorist, Darryl won many awards, including the National Paul Mitchel Colorist Award as well as being named Panola County's Best Spa/Salon for several years. He was a avid participant in Panola Playhouse, volunteering his time and talents in the areas of Hair, Make-up, and Set Design, and he was an actor in several productions. He also served as a National Matrix Hair Color Educator. Darryl found joy in his special interest, which included decorating, one of his outstanding talents. He also enjoyed antique shopping, gardening, cooking, and going on Sunday afternoon rides, especially with his companion of fifteen years, his husband Dane. He sound special joy in taking part in his nephews' lives and the lives of the members of his extended family who all loved him dearly. Those left to cherish Darryl's memory are his loving husband Dane Griffin of Batesville, his sister; Cheryl Still Singleton, of Oxford, his nephews; Cole Whitten of Pope, Matthew Singleton of Senatobia, Conner Singleton of Independence, his close cousins; Dean Morganti of Madison, Rita Sparks of Memphis, TN, Keifer Jenkins (Ashley) of Batesville, his beloved nieces; Ali Nicole Sergi (Pip) of Batesville, and Jamie Brown of Batesville. He also leaves his two sisters-in-law Reece Jenkins of Memphis, TN, and Sheila Brown of Batesville, mother-in-law; June Griffin of Batesville, great nieces and nephews; Tripp Sergi, Blake Sergi, Aldyn Sergi, and Summer Jenkins. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2015, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville.
