Mrs. Joan H. Kiihnl, age 75, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 06, 2016, in Lafayette County. Joan is the wife of Mr. James "Buddy" Kiihnl.
Funeral services for Ms. Joan will be held on Tuesday afternoon, February 09, 2016, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home at 2:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00-8:00 PM. Mr. Michael Bates will officiate the services.
Joan was born to the late Walter and Lovie Mae Weeks Hall in Panola County, MS on August 26, 1940. She was one of twelve children. Joan retired from the Kimberly Clark Company, but her favorite job above all else was caring for her family. During her leisure time Ms. Joan loved quilting, decorating, bird watching and painting. She also enjoyed having people join her "club" and initiated them accordingly. Mrs. Kiihnl was blessed by the Lord with the gift of music and not only played multiple instruments but also wrote songs.
Those left behind to cherish Ms. Joan's beloved memory include her husband James "Buddy" Kiihnl; one daughter Deborah Harris (Spencer) of Bartlett, TN; three sons Gerald Kiihnl (Vanessa) of Austin, AR, Robbie Kiihnl (Jennifer) of Courtland, MS, and Ronnie Kiihnl (Holley) of Memphis, TN; two sisters Flora Hall of Water Valley, MS, Annie Ruth Criswell of Courtland, MS; one brother Larry Hall of Sardis, MS; ten grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Kiihnl was preceded in death by five sisters Dot Hendrix, Audrey Simpson, Wanda York, Ivy McMinn, Francis Hall, three brothers Lois Hall, Walter Gene Hall, Steve Hall; one granddaughter Victoria Kiihnl.
