Dorothy Tidwell "Dot" Broome

Dorothy Tidwell "Dot" Broome, age 75, passed away late Thursday evening, January 21, 2016 in Southaven, MS. Dot was the widow of the late Robert H. Broome. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 24, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Batesville, MS with interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the church and continuing until the service. Dr. Robert Self and Dr. Tommy Snyder will be officiating the service. Dot was born September 10, 1940 in Henderson, TN to the late Freddie and Tommie Ware Tidwell. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Dot was the former owner of Collector Antiques on the square in Batesville and worked for First Security Bank as a bank teller for over twenty years. Her memory will live on through her daughter, Kelly Broome Lipscomb of Sardis, MS; son, Gary Broome (Angie) of Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Dot was preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Broome Bolton.
